Impact spotlight

The project yielded significant positive impacts, as evidenced by the following trainee feedback and initiatives:

Birth of Ubuntu Youth Movement for Peace (Ubuntu Youth)

Inspired by training in information literacy and peacebuilding, 102 internally displaced youth (IDPs) formed the Ubuntu Youth Movement, promoting the philosophy of Ubuntu ("I am because we are") to foster peace in their host communities.

Enhanced Conflict Sensitivity in Reporting:

Njoya Denis (Noun Community Radio, Foumban): Foumban, my home town is experiencing deep political divisions and high tensions. The training has made me acutely aware of this. I will be more cautious and responsible in reporting.

Agborem Solomon (Voice Newspaper, Limbe): The peace reporting training has been incredibly valuable. I'm much more mindful of headline phrasing and disturbed by the provocative language still used by some colleagues.
